The Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS) has taken a major step towards standardising and digitising haulage revenue collection in the state with a two-day training for Consolidated Haulage Levy (CHL) personnel.
The training, held at the Dr. Agbu Kefas Conference Hall, TIRS headquarters, was designed to equip State Consultant Compliance Officers (SCCOs) and enforcement personnel with the technical skills required to operate digital gadgets and collection procedures in line with Joint Revenue Board (JRB) standards.
The training was facilitated by i4cus Nigeria Limited.
Speaking at the opening, TIRS Executive Director/Board Member, Theophilus K. Japheth, said the initiative was aimed at strengthening professionalism, accountability and standard practice, warning personnel against compromise.
Another Executive Director/Board Member, Magai B. Agyo, said the JRB policy was designed to harmonise haulage levy collection while promoting transparency and accountability.
The CEO/Managing Director of i4cus Nigeria Limited, Joy Abama, charged personnel to uphold integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The training featured sessions on road safety, traffic management, safe field enforcement, security and intelligence, digital operations, as well as practical and interactive sessions.
The initiative further demonstrates TIRS’ commitment to modernising revenue administration, embracing technology and delivering a transparent, efficient and professionally driven haulage revenue system in Taraba State.
